We require a reservation/confirmation deposit/caution of 1/2 of the total rental at the time of reserving the villa. Payment must be made in either US Dollars or French Francs. This then becomes a security deposit at the commencement of the rental period.

The full rent is due 60 days (8 weeks) prior to the start of the rental period.

Payment can be made by check or by direct bank to bank transfer. Either way, all banking fees will be charged against the deposit. Once you confirm with us that you wish to reserve the villa, we will send you the appropriate banking information.

Chargeable expenses are as follows:

Electricity - is charged at 0.16 Euros per Kwh (included in price July & August).
Telephone: is assessed at use rate (billed bimonthly).
Fire wood: is billed at the rate of 60 Euros per cubic meter.
Breakage, damage or extra cleaning: is billed at replacement plus costs. Extra cleaning (in excess of 1 hour) is billed as required (at 12 € per hour).
Village Bed Tax: Esparron charges a 0.30 € per person, per day village bed tax. These will be totaled and subtracted from the security deposit.

These charges, if any, will be totaled and subtracted from your security deposit once we have received the report from Annie Decroix, the property manager in Esparron de Verdon. Then the balance will then be returned to the renter in either Euros or US Dollars depending on how it was paid in the first place. All banking, exchange and other fees associated with these transactions, bank charges, non-Euro or US Dollar payments will be charged to the renter and subtracted from the deposit.

The rent, once paid, is nonrefundable.

The deposit is fully refundable up until 60 days (8 weeks) prior to the start of the rental period except for any incurred expenses as listed above. We suggest travelers insurance which can protect you in the event of cancellation in case you have to cancel after the grace period. It also can help you with an medical emergency when abroad and many other unfortunate occurrences.

For longer term rentals, different arrangements can be established giving larger extended time discounts on rental price and establishing a different security, utility and telephone payment schedule.
